Bengaluru, Karnataka faced a tense night as a hoax bomb threat targeted the Raj Bhavan, the official residence of Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot. The security scare unfolded when an anonymous call reached the NIA control room, asserting the presence of a bomb within the Raj Bhavan premises with an ominous warning that it could detonate at any moment.

Swiftly responding to the threat, the Bengaluru Police initiated a comprehensive search operation throughout the Governor's official residence. The urgency of the situation was underscored by the absence of Governor Gehlot, who is currently situated in Belagavi, adding an additional layer of concern to the unfolding events.

The anonymous call, which triggered the security alert, was traced back to Bidar, a district situated in the northern part of Karnataka near the Maharashtra border, according to Raj Bhavan sources. After making the call, the unidentified caller promptly switched off the phone, making it challenging for authorities to trace their location.

Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police (West division) Shekhar H Tekkannavar provided insights into the unfolding events, stating that the NIA control room received the anonymous call around midnight. Despite an intense search operation, no explosive devices were discovered, leading the authorities to categorize the incident as a hoax.
