In response to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Air India has made the decision to extend the suspension of its regular flights to Tel Aviv. In response to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Air India has made the decision to extend the suspension of its regular flights to Tel Aviv. The airline had initially imposed this suspension due to safety concerns, and it will now persist until November 2. Tensions in the region escalated significantly following fresh attacks by Hamas militants on Israel from Gaza on October 7.

As a result of these attacks, Israel launched a massive counter-offensive in Gaza to retaliate. An Air India official confirmed on Wednesday that the previously suspended flights to Tel Aviv will remain on hold until November 2.

Since October 7, Air India has not operated any scheduled flights to or from Tel Aviv, and this suspension affects the five weekly flights the full-service carrier typically offers from the national capital. These flights are usually scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

In the course of this month, the airline conducted a limited number of chartered flights to Tel Aviv from the national capital. These flights were part of the government's Operation Ajay, aimed at assisting Indians who desired to return from Israel amid the escalating conflict.

The decision to extend the flight suspension underscores the ongoing instability in the region and the safety concerns that airlines like Air India must consider when operating in conflict zones. This move also impacts travelers and businesses reliant on these flight connections and highlights the broader implications of the Israel-Hamas conflict on international travel and commerce.
