Violence in West Bengal on Ram Navami:-

After the attack on the Ram Navami procession, Smriti Irani called out the Chief Minister of West Bengal. On Thursday, clashes broke out between two communities when the procession was stone pelted and it resulted in serious damage. Rioters vandalized public and private properties and set various vehicles on fire in Howrah.

Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani accused Mamta Banerjee of giving a clean chit to the ones who pelted stones on the procession. She also claimed that “Instead of delivering justice Mamta Banerjee took law into her own hands and attacked the Shobha Yatra of Ram Navami.” And questioned how long these attacks will continue on the Hindu community of Bengal. 


As the violence broke out, the case was handed over to the Crime Investigation Department(CID) by the government on Friday. A special team will be headed by CID Sunil Chaudhary to investigate in an unbiased manner.


Union Minister Amit Shah had a word with the Governor of West Bengal and discussed the situation in Howrah. He further called BJP President Sukanta Majumdar and inquired about the state of law and order After the riot.
