US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti May Get Love From EAM but Not From Me: Says Amit Shah

US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti:-

In response to recent remarks made by the US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti regarding human rights and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Foreign Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar stated that “he will make the foreign diplomat understand the issues with 100% love”.

While EAM Jaishankar may greet Garcetti with respect and encouragement, he might not get the same treatment from other famous leaders in Modi's government, especially Home Minister Amit Shah. 

Earlier, when the US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti brought up the subject of human rights in India, the blunt and temperamental response from Amit Shah surprised him. 

“He need not be concerned about human rights in India as inclusiveness is part of Indian culture and civilization”, the Home Minister assured the Ambassador. 

Despite serving as the country's home minister since 2019 and BJP's president for six years, Amit Shah has not travelled outside of India. He is renowned for interfering in foreign diplomatic situations and for being imperious on foreign representatives.

Therefore, Garcetti, who reclaimed the position of US Ambassador to India after two years of absence, should be Aware that Modi's government does not appreciate receiving unexpected advice.
