This is black, necrotic tissue destruction,” said UCLA researcher Joseph Friedman. Apart from effects on the skin, Tranq causes slow breath and excessive sleepiness. Around 19% of the deaths that occurred due to drug overdose in Maryland were also caused by usage of Tranq. Reports have found that once Tranq is administered into one, there are high chances of mishappenings like road accidents and sexual harassment. Sam Brennan, an American resident said, “It’s something I’ve never seen before anywhere else. People all over the place, sticking needles anywhere they possibly can, passed out.” It is imperative for the US government to take speedy action regarding the condemnation of the usage of this ‘flesh- eating drug’.
