In a sombre turn of events, the Telugu film industry bids farewell to one of its stalwarts, Chandra Mohan. The veteran actor, aged 82, breathed his last on Saturday morning, succumbing to a cardiac arrest. Chandra Mohan's final moments occurred at 9:45 am on November 11 at Hyderabad's Apollo Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for heart-related ailments.

Chandra Mohan, born Mallampalli Chandra Mohan, had a prolific career spanning several decades. His contributions to Telugu cinema earned him recognition and respect. His cousin, veteran filmmaker K Viswanath, shared a familial bond in the world of cinema.

The news of Chandra Mohan's death spread quickly on social media, generating a flood of condolences from fans and other industry members. Jr NTR, best known for his part in "RRR," expressed his sadness on X, writing, "It is very sad to see the untimely death of Chandramohan Garu, who has earned special recognition for himself by playing different roles in films for many decades." My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family; may his spirit rest in peace."

Chandra Mohan, originally named Chandrasekhara Rao Mallampalli, made his debut in 1966 with the Telugu film "Rangula Ratnam." Over the years, he earned accolades, including two Nandi Awards and a Filmfare Award South for his role in "Padaharella Vayasu" (1978). His last appearance was in the 2017 Telugu action thriller "Oxygen," alongside Gopichand, Raashi Khanna, and Anu Emmanuel.

As the Telugu film fraternity mourns the loss of a cinematic gem, Chandra Mohan's final rites are scheduled for Monday, November 13, marking the end of an era in the industry.
