Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan embarked on a significant four-day visit to India, with a primary objective to fortify the bilateral relations between the two nations. This visit carries historical significance, being the first by a Tanzanian President in over eight years.

Upon her arrival in India, President Samia Suluhu Hassan expressed the importance of the relationship between Tanzania and India. She referred to India as an "extended family," a "strategic ally," and one of the "largest bilateral trading partners." Her visit aimed at expanding trade and investment, laying the foundation for prosperity in both countries.

The Ministry of External Affairs extended the invitation to President Samia Suluhu Hassan, emphasizing the visit's role in invigorating and strengthening the historic and friendly relations between India and Tanzania. The visit included the presence of various Ministers and a substantial business delegation.

During her initial days in India, President Suluhu held discussions with External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar. She expressed her appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative regarding the permanent G20 membership of the African Union (AU). These discussions set the stage for the expansion of bilateral relations across various domains.

The highlight of President Samia Suluhu's visit is her scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. Additionally, President Suluhu will actively participate in a business and investment forum in Delhi, scheduled for October 10th.

The visit holds great significance for both nations, symbolizing a commitment to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and trade ties. A ceremonial welcome will be extended to President Suluhu at the Rashtrapati Bhawan before her bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the India-Tanzania relationship.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan's visit to India underscores the importance of diplomatic efforts in fostering mutually beneficial relationships between nations.
