Shailesh Lodha, the actor who portrayed the titular character in the popular TV show Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), filmed his final episode in April of last year. However, due to a dispute with the showrunner Asit Modi, Lodha parted ways with the show. We previously reported in January that Lodha had been waiting for over six months to receive payment for over a year of work. The latest development we have learned is that Lodha has decided to pursue legal action to receive his outstanding dues from the production house.

According to our sources in early March, Shailesh Lodha filed a complaint against Asit Modi, the showrunner of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, for his unpaid dues and proceeded to sue his production company. Due to Modi's inability to pay his debts, Lodha also contacted the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and began a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9. The hearing for this matter is scheduled for May.

Upon contacting Lodha for comment, he declined to provide any information as the case is currently in court.

This situation has raised concerns about the treatment of actors in the entertainment industry and the importance of timely payment for their work. We hope that a fair resolution can be reached for all parties involved and that Lodha's contributions to the show are acknowledged and compensated appropriately.

Meanwhile, Asit Modi has refrained from commenting on the matter, stating that he is currently traveling. However, we were contacted by Sohil Ramani, the project head of TMKOC, who expressed that there is not much more to add that hasn't already been said. Ramani emphasized that Lodha was considered a member of the TMKOC family and that his decision to leave was respected. Additionally, the production team repeatedly attempted to reach out to Lodha through email and phone to finalize the paperwork and release his remaining payment.

Ramani clarified that the production company never refused or denied Lodha's payment and stated that in every company, full and final papers must be signed before complete payment is released. Ramani also questioned the need for a complaint and suggested that following regular procedures would have been a better course of action.

When asked about the production company's intentions regarding the case, Ramani denied pursuing any case and asserted that they had informed Lodha to collect his dues and sign the required paperwork. It remains to be seen how this matter will be resolved, and we hope that both parties can come to a fair and amicable agreement.

It is unfortunate that such a talented and beloved actor has to resort to legal measures to receive his rightful payments. Fans of the show and Lodha himself have expressed their disappointment with the situation, and many are calling for the production house to take responsibility and fulfill their obligations. We hope that this legal action will result in a fair resolution for all parties involved and that Lodha will receive the compensation he deserves for his hard work and dedication to the show.
