Sudha Murty, an eminent educator,
author, and philanthropist, is renowned for her candidness in expressing
thoughts and sharing personal stories. The former chairperson of Infosys
Foundation, she often reflects on her relationship with her husband, NR
Narayana Murthy, a co-founder of Infosys.
During a recent appearance on The
Kapil Sharma Show alongside Raveena Tandon and producer Guneet Monga, Murty
playfully disclosed that her husband has maintained the same weight since their
wedding day, teasingly attributing it to her culinary skills as a "bad
cook"
Narayana Murthy's weight has remained the same since our wedding day. With a humorous tone, Sudha Murty revealed, "I must admit, as a bad cook, I'm responsible for his steady weight." The audience burst into laughter at her remark.

Narayana Murthy and I are quite
different. He's a serious, introverted person who rarely laughs or speaks. In
fact, he limits himself to just four or five sentences a day. Whenever I ask
him why he doesn't speak more, he humorously replies, "You speak enough
for both of us, so I have nothing left to say." Once, during an event
where he received the Businessman of the Year award, a photographer approached
us for pictures. Knowing his reluctance to smile, the photographer asked me to
make him smile. I jokingly responded, saying, "It's been 45 years since we
got married, and that's one task I haven't accomplished yet."
While he maintains a serious demeanor, I'm always adorned with a smile. Laughter is my constant companion, and seriousness doesn't resonate with me. Our relationship, as I see it, follows the principle of physics: opposite poles attract each other," she joyfully shared.

When Kapil Sharma praised Murty
for her wit, she humbly responded, "As an author, I can confidently say
that writing humor is challenging. It's easier to craft serious novels, but
injecting humor into stories and articles is the toughest task. I truly admire
you (Sharma) for effortlessly finding humor."
Sudha Murty, honored with the
Padma Bhushan award, has authored numerous books in both Kannada and English
languages.
