Seven Persons Injured in Nagpur Due to Drunk Driver’s Speeding Vehicle and Hitting Pedestrians and Motorcycles

A drunk driver rammed his car into pedestrians and motorcycles in Nagpur, injuring seven, including a 3-month-old baby. Police arrested three occupants and recovered alcohol and ganja from the vehicle.
A tragic event occurred in Nagpur on Friday night when a car, which presumably belonged to the man who was intoxicated, hit several people and motorcycles on the road, seven were injured, including a 3-month-old baby.
The ugly incident occurred in the night around 8 pm in the densely populated Mahal area near Natraj Talkies. Having interviewed the witnesses on the scene, the car hit several people on the pavement and then hit a few motorcycles. The driver of the car attempted to get away from the scene, and in the process, the car became out of his control, locals later mobbed the three men, all of whom were in their 20s.
The Nagpur police have caught the three, which include Sunny Chavan, Anshul Dhale, and a third unknown person. Police seized three beer bottles and ganja from inside the car, which means the driver was probably under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Of the seven injured, three had critical injuries, they include a woman who has a broken leg, her three-month-old baby who is still unconscious, and another man who is said to be in critical condition. As for the rest of the people, four of them got injured slightly.
The action of the driver was criticized by the local people to the extent of assaulting the three occupants before reporting them to the police. The police have opened an inquiry into the occurrence and are now identifying the driver of the car at the time of the mishap.

Yet, this incident has once again been a grim reminder of the reality of drunk and reckless driving endangering people’s lives. The Nagpur police have appealed to the citizen to be more careful on the roads and if one observes any strange activity, he should notify the police right away.
