Republic Day 2023 Event Itinerary: 901 Police Medals and Much More

Republic Day 2023:-
Today (25th January 2023), the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the names of awardees in various categories who will be felicitated on event of the 74th Republic Day tomorrow (26th January 2023).   Republic Day 2023 Republic Day 2023 Police Medals A total of 901 police medals will be awarded on Republic Day 2023. They include:
  1. 93 PPM (President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service)
  2. 140 PMG (Police Medals for Gallantry)
  3. 668 PM (Police Medals for Meritorious Service)
Besides these, a team of 19 officers from the C60 commandos (Gadchiroli police) will also be awarded the Police Medals for Gallantry on Republic Day in credit for killing 13 Maoists. Felicitation for the Army A total of 11020 Army officers will be felicitated on Republic Day 2023. Few of the major categories are:
  1. 437 ranks of Honorary Captain for members on active duty
  2. 1283 ranks of Honorary Lieutenant for members on active duty
  3. 1307 ranks of Honorary Captain for retired officers
  4. 197 ranks of Honorary Lieutenant for retired officers
Bravery Awards on Republic Day 2023 45 officers deployed in J&K will be felicitated for their gallant acts besides 80 other officers engaged in tackling Naxal affected areas. Other Notable Awards on Republic Day 2023 55 officers serving as civil guards will be awarded with civil defence medals, out of which 1 officer will be awarded the Medal for Gallantry. There are nine and forty five recipients for the President’s Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Distinguished Service and the Medal for Meritorious Service respectively. 47 officers will be awarded Fire Service Medals out of which 2 officers will be awarded the Gallantry award for the same. 7 and 38 officers will receive the President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service and the Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service respectively.
