Atiq, Ashraf Ahmed Death

Police Fail to React:-

In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, 18 police personnel were present when three young men posing as journalists shot Atiq and Ashraf Ahmed in front of the media and police during a medical checkup. Despite being known for their tendency to use force, the police failed to react and were only able to apprehend the assailants alive after the shooting had stopped.

The police claimed they didn't have enough time to respond as the shooting was over quickly, and the news crews fled the scene during the chaos.

After the shooting, the three men were seen surrendering with their hands up and were taken into custody. Many were questioning why the police did not open fire on the attackers.

Experts suggested that the police may have refrained from doing so because it could have potentially hindered the investigation into the murders. If the assailants had been killed, it would have been difficult to uncover the conspiracy behind the murders, and the police may have been accused of destroying evidence.

Former retired UP DGP AK Jain explained that besides the quickness of the shooting, it would not have been a wise decision for the Police to open fire. Another retired IPS officer agreed that it was crucial to apprehend the assailants alive to unravel the conspiracy behind the murders.

Overall, the shooting has brought attention to the Uttar Pradesh police's reputation for using force, and many are questioning their inability to react during the incident.
