Mumbai Shocker: Decomposed Body of A Woman Found in Vasai Flat

In a horrific crime scene in Vasai, Mumbai, the Manikpur police has found the decomposed body of a 25 year old woman, Mumtaz Qazi in an abandoned flat.

How Was The Crime Scene Discovered?

On Sunday (9th April 2023), residents from the Shri Ashirwad building reported that there was a persistent stinking smell from a flat on the first floor for a long time. The neighbors also reported that the flat was occupied by a couple for a month.

 

Details of The Crime Scene

The deceased woman’s body was found lying on the bed with a piece of a saree wrapped around her neck. The other piece of the saree hung from the fan above. Looking at the crime scene, it appeared that the saree was cut to bring the body down on the bed.

 

On a meticulous search of the flat, documents relating to the rent agreement were found. The names of both the residents of the flat were found on these documents. Mumtaz Qazi lived in the flat with Mubin Qazi who is suspected to be the deceased's husband, however, no relation has been established between the two individuals on the basis of evidence.

 

Further Investigation

The woman’s body has been sent for post-mortem to track the cause of death. The police released a statement, “We have registered an accidental death report. However, we are not ruling out the possibility of murder and are trying to trace Mubin.” The police have also been on the look-out for Mumtaz’s relatives to get more details about Mubin.
