In a game-changing recruitment
drive initiated by the Modi government for the 4th time since 2018, the Centre
has announced an opportunity for private sector professionals to join jobs in
the public sector across various departments.
Lateral
Entry Opportunities to 17 Private Sector Professionals
17 senior officers have been planned to be taken by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under various government departments. The responsibility to find these private sector professionals has been placed on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The target ministries are expected to be the Ministries of health, power, agriculture, financial services and rural development.
The private sector professionals will be directly appointed by the method of lateral entry. Such an entry stands out from the regular method of selection and appointment in government services.
Utility
of This Infusion
With the help of this recruitment
drive, the government seeks to infuse the capacity and magnitude of the public
sector with the sheer talent of private sector professionals. Such professionals
bring in a lot of positive scope for public departments, given that private
workplaces demand swift and efficient working mechanisms coupled with
performance-based incentives.
