In a resolute stance against corruption, the Mizoram government, led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, has taken a monumental step by granting consent for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into offenses within the state. This decision, announced on social media platform X, underscores the administration's dedication to transparency and accountability.

The gazette notification, issued by the state government, delineates the exercise of powers bestowed by the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act of 1946. This grants the CBI jurisdiction to investigate offenses in Mizoram. Such measures are pivotal in upholding the integrity of the administration and fostering a corruption-free environment for the citizens.

Lalduhoma, since assuming office, has emphasized the Zoram People's Movement government's commitment to combat corruption. The prioritization of anti-corruption measures was highlighted immediately after the swearing-in ceremony on December 8. Inviting the CBI to investigate graft cases in the state signifies a proactive approach to weed out malpractice.

Under the Delhi Special Police Establishment (DSPE) Act of 1946, the CBI mandates the consent of the state government to initiate investigations within its jurisdiction. This step taken by Mizoram reinforces the cooperative synergy between state and federal investigative bodies, aiming to ensure robust scrutiny and impartial investigation of alleged offenses.

The Mizoram government's decision not only amplifies its dedication to ethical governance but also sets a precedent for fostering an environment of vigilance against corruption. This resounding commitment to integrity aligns with the welfare-centric ethos of the administration.
