According to university students, the Jawaharlal Nehru University cut off power supply on Tuesday to prevent the screening of a BBC documentary on the PM Modi Ji on university Campus.
The documentary link has already been shared with students. Just outside of the JNUSU office, they are now able to watch the documentary on their cellphones.
The administration had expressed concern that the documentary's screening would disrupt the university's harmony as well as peace.
The documentary is primarily focused on events that occurred while the 2002 Gujarat riots, when Modiji was the state's chief minister. The first episode of the series broadcasted in the United Kingdom on January 17, causing a massive uproar. The ministry of external affairs labelled the documentary as propaganda and said it reflected a colonial mental attitude last week.
