Media Orientation and Publicity Program Held

The Southern Air Command took the initiative to organize a media orientation and publicity program for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

On Friday, the Headquarters of Southern Air Command (SAC) hosted a media orientation and Indian Air Force (IAF) publicity program. According to an official release, numerous media houses showed their active participation in the event.

During their visit to the Southern Air Command (SAC), the media personnel were taken on a guided tour of a static display. They were provided with the opportunity to watch a static display that featured various technical equipment, an indigenous Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) known as Dhruv, and an Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle (IPEV). 

The welcome took place at the Travancore Auditorium, where the Senior Air Staff Officer of Southern Air Command, Air Marshal SK Vidhate AVSM YSM VM, gave a warm welcome to the media personnel.

During the media orientation and IAF publicity program, the media personnel were presented with a series of videos covering different aspects of the Indian Air Force such as the history of the IAF, Doctrinal aspects of Aerospace power, the role played by IAF in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Operations and emphasis given by IAF on Atmanirbharta were highlighted to media personnel and its commitment to "Atmanirbharta." 

According to an official release, the SAC is preparing to host an extraordinary air show in the capital city during the Onam holidays. This grand event, organized as part of the 40th Raising Day celebrations of the SAC, is part of the SAC's public outreach initiatives and intends to showcase the remarkable capabilities of the IAF through a static display for the public.

The Southern Air Command of IAF was established on July 19, 1984. Its headquarters is located in the city of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
