The CBI had initiated a probe into the matter while the ED has been looking into the money trail in this matter. Politician Manish Sisodiya had been sent to remand earlier at the Tihar Jail in relation to the liquor scam case itself. Manish Sisosdiya’s phone was being examined closely as “voluminous data from Sisodia’s email and mobile phone was being forensically analyzed”. However, to make matters difficult for the ED, Manish Sisodiya destroyed his phone and now, the ED has sought for a further extension of his remand. Stand of the CBI and ED Many findings have been reached by the ED and CBI with regard to the liquor scam case. Undue advantage has been given to certain license holders. Wrong entries in account books and the fines for violation of the excise policy have also been found to be diverted to other stakeholders of the faulty policy. On this premise, it is absolutely necessary to track down the accused persons and make the system more accountable for their policies and their implementation.
