After the death of Queen Elizabeth and the subsequent arrangements being made for the coronation of her son, King Charles, the world of the Royal Family seems to have undergone many crucial changes. However, some weird rules and royal protocols have remained the same for the family since time immemorial.

 

Delay in King Charle’s Coronation Explained

Royal protocols provide for a time gap of at least 1 year between the death of the former monarch and the coronation of the new monarch of Britain. It explains the reason why King Charles has yet not been crowned after the death of Queen Elizabeth.

 

King Charles is not allowed to take any pictures with fans or provide his autograph on public demand. It is to protect his signature from being forged.

The same procedure had also been followed during the coronation of Queen Elizabeth. She was crowned in June 1953, a year after the death of her father, in February 1952.

Queen Elizabeth’s coronation ceremony had been attended by a whopping number of 8,000 guests. Meanwhile, only 2,000 people will be attending the coronation ceremony of King Charles this year.


 

The King must accept all gifts given to him during the ceremony or any trips, however, he must not accept any food or drinks from strangers.

The Weird Royal Protocols that King Charles Is Bound by

  1. King Charles is not allowed to take any pictures with fans or provide his autograph on public demand. It is to protect his signature from being forged.
  2. The King must accept all gifts given to him during the ceremony or any trips, however, he must not accept any food or drinks from strangers.
  3. As the most crucial member of the current Royal Family, the King is not allowed to hold any strong political opinion or take political sides. However, as a part of social activism, he is allowed to spread awareness to the public regarding general issues.
  4. King Charles must always have his black outfit as a part of his bag and baggage while traveling as a part of royal protocol so that he is ready to attend a funeral at any given point in time.
