John Wick: Chapter 4 Review: Should You Watch it?

John Wick:-

The "slaughter-fest" was back last week in the theaters. Yes, the John Wick franchise Has released its fourth edition, and let me give you no spoilers! (It just got better, believe me)

More actions, more car chases, more cool characters, and fewer words spoken by the Protagonist, aren't these the prerequisites of a thrilling and entertaining "Stoic" action movie? 

From what started as a boring series of a man who lost the love of his life and lived in solitude to transforming himself again into the Hitman he always was, we all have come a long way in the journey. I don't know how much road is still there to traverse, but the checkpoint in the form of John Wick: Chapter 4 is worth watching. (No, this is not a sponsorship by Mr. Wick)

So the story picks up from where it left off in the third edition of the John Wick series. "Ex-communicado" John tries to find a way to take the fight to the High Table to gain his freedom. However, the road is full of thorns, making it imminently life-threatening for Mr. Wick to convince people to accept his "proposal."

However, he soon finds a way to secure a fight with a "prominent" member of the High Table. (I won't reveal how for the people who haven't watched yet) Whether he wins the fight or loses it alongside his freedom, you will only know after watching the movie. 

But what I can promise you is the never-ending sequences of action that will keep you glued to your seat. Be it the start of the movie where Donnie Yen, aka "Caine," and Rina Sawayama, aka "Akira," stole the show. Or the intense car chases and the action scenes in the congested traffic of Paris, the film never disappoints you in this aspect!

Donnie Yen, out of all, deserves a separate appreciation for the role he carried out throughout the movie. After the power-packed performance he put in John Wick: Chapter 4, his role in the upcoming sequels is all but confirmed!

Another notable character that deserves appreciation is "Mr. Nobody," played by Shamier Anderson. He and his dog (yes, iykyk) added new dimensions of thrill, excitement, and fun to John Wick: Chapter 4. 

All in all, the side characters included in the movie hit over the waistline. Be it Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, or Rina Sawayama, everyone left a lasting impression in the hearts and minds of the audience who were up for a treat in the theaters.

The only "sour aspect" of John Wick: Chapter 4 was the absence of Lance Reddick. If there was one person who captured the essence of stoicism in the preceding chapters of the John Wick series, it has to be Lance and his character "Charon." 

Nevertheless, kudos to Chad Stahelski and his team for keeping the audience hooked and never giving them a chance to remember the Legend during the runtime. (Although, you can't escape the fact for long)

If you aren't convinced yet on whether you should go and hit the theaters for the "Boogeyman," there's a scene captured from the top-down perspective, and believe me, that is one of the best action-scene you will ever see!

Personally, I would say John Wick: Chapter 4 is more than just an all-action movie. The movie captures the essence of the Greek Gods and the legends to inevitable tragedies in life, and the reclamation of powers so well that you couldn't ask for any better. It will be a mistake for a first-time viewer to distinguish between good and bad (as we do with other films), as there are no inherent theories justifying either party.

If you are looking for a power-packed action movie with hidden ideologies from the Greek world or other notable philosophies, John Wick: Chapter 4 is your go-to film. There is also a Sisyphean joke toward the end of the movie which combined with the action sequence, will compel you to rewind for sure. (And you thought it was a purely Stoic film)

• With $73.5 million at the domestic box office and $137.5 million globally on the opening day, John Wick: Chapter 4 has beaten all its previous releases.

• John Wick: Chapter 4 has the longest runtime in the entire John Wick universe.

• Rina Sawayama was found on YouTube by Director Chad Stahelski before casting her for the Role of "Akira."

• Keanu Reeves, throughout John Wick: Chapter 4, only said a total of 380 words, the lowest in the entire series.

• A spin-off starring Ana de Armas is expected to be released soon, according to the director and the team.
