In a significant development within the Congress party, Jairam Ramesh reiterated that Sam Pitroda's recent comments regarding the Ram Temple controversy do not reflect the party's stance. Emphasizing that Pitroda's views are personal, Ramesh clarified the party's position, disassociating from Pitroda's statements.

The Indian Overseas Congress chairman, Sam Pitroda, raised eyebrows with his contentious statement, suggesting that the country's trajectory is veering off-course due to the elevation of issues like the Ram Temple to a national agenda. Expressing apprehension about the upcoming 2024 elections and their impact on India's future, Pitroda voiced concerns about the prevailing direction of the nation.

Highlighting his worries, Pitroda emphasized the disproportionate emphasis on religion over crucial matters such as education, employment, economic growth, and environmental issues. He expressed discomfort with the political use of religion, advocating for its personal nature rather than being a national agenda.

Pitroda stressed the need for a modern nation built on broader developmental objectives, distancing from the excessive politicization of religious matters. He underscored the significance of respecting individuals irrespective of their religious beliefs and urged leaders to prioritize institutions like schools and libraries over religious visits.

This divergence within the Congress party over Pitroda's remarks signifies a debate on the national agenda, stressing the need for a balanced focus on developmental priorities rather than religious affiliations in the political landscape.
