Israeli Warplanes strike Gaza: As the European Union asks for "accountability," Israeli airplanes have bombed several locations in the Gaza Strip. According to the Associated Press news agency, the Israeli military said the air attacks on Sunday (04 Dec 2022) targeted a weapons production complex and an underground tunnel. These raids took place on December 4. Israeli Warplanes strike Gaza Credit: AFP According to statements made by the Israeli army, "the attack overnight continued the process to delay the military build-up." Following the successful rocket landing in southern Israel and as tensions approach a boiling point in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli troops have murdered ten Palestinians in the last week, Israeli airplanes have bombed locations in the Gaza Strip. According to reports from the Associated Press news agency, the Israeli military said that the air attacks in the early hours of Sunday morning targeted a weapons production facility and an underground tunnel that belonged to Hamas.

Key Events:

  • After receiving reports of rocket firing, Israeli fighter planes attacked Gaza.

  • Palestinians in Gaza participate in demonstrations and strikes in support of Nablus.

  • A residential structure in Gaza is destroyed by fire, taking the lives of 21 people.

  • Palestinians are mourning after 21 people were murdered in a "catastrophic" building fire in Gaza.

No organization has come forward to claim responsibility for the rocket that was reportedly fired on Saturday evening for the first time in a month. According to the Israeli military, the rocket landed in an open area close to Israel's separation fence, but it did not cause any injuries or damage to property. The Israeli military launched an airstrike on Gaza in response to the international outcry that followed the fatal shooting of Ammar Mufleh, 23, a young Palestinian man, by an Israeli soldier in broad daylight on Friday. The incident was caught on camera. The disturbing video has caused significant outrage among Palestinians and demands on social media to step up resistance against Israeli occupation. Hot News: Blank-Page Revolution’ of China Gets Trending The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs equated the shooting of Mufleh to execution, and Palestinian activists and users of social media are using the hashtag "Huwara Execution" in Arabic to demand a reaction to crimes committed by Israeli troops. In charge of European Union foreign policy, Josep Borrell issued a statement in which he expressed "grave worry over the escalating level of violence in the occupied West Bank." IDF soldiers had been responsible for the deaths of ten Palestinians only in the last few days (Israeli Security Forces). The heinous murder of a Palestinian man named Ammar Mifleh by a member of the Israeli Security Forces (also known as the ISF) only the day before was the most recent case. Since the end of the second Intifada in 2005, the year that Israel launched its air raid on Gaza has been the deadliest for Palestinians. Over 140 Palestinians, including at least 30 children, have been killed by near-daily military raids into the occupied West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Since the beginning of this year, at least 207 Palestinians have lost their lives in the occupied areas of the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
