India Continues to Fight Against COVID-19: Weekly Positivity Rate Stands at 5.43%

India has been grappling with the COVID-19 Pandemic for more than a year now. With the recent surge in cases in some states, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written to eight states urging them to ramp up their efforts in curbing the spread of the virus. The states that received the letter include Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, and Haryana.

According to recent statistics, a total of 92.54 crores of COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the country so far. In the last 24 hours, around 1,43,899 tests were conducted. The weekly positivity rate stands at 5.43%, indicating a slight decline in the number of cases.

As of now, India's active caseload stands at 67,806, and a total of 4,42,92,854 people have recovered from the disease. It indicates that the efforts taken by the government and healthcare workers are yielding positive results.

However, the fight against COVID-19 is far from over, and everyone must continue to follow the guidelines set by health authorities. Guidelines against COVID-19 include wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and washing hands frequently.

The recent surge in cases in some states is a reminder that the virus is still prevalent and that people should not let their guard down. The Union Health Secretary's letter to the eight states emphasizes the importance of taking measures to curb the spread of the virus.

Nevertheless, India is making progress in its fight against COVID-19, but the battle is far from over. Everyone must continue to follow the guidelines set by health authorities and work together to keep the virus at bay. The recent decline in the weekly positivity rate is a positive sign, but it should not be taken as a reason to be complacent. We must remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to keep ourselves and our society safe.
