According to a report given by Anni Gejji, the Congress leadership has requested its candidates and officials to avoid attacking Prime Minister Modi and getting involved in debates related to Hindutva and secularism during the campaign for the Karnataka assembly elections. The campaign is scheduled on May 10, as per reports.

The party stated that any negative comments against PM Modi could be "blown out of proportion" and alter the election narrative. The leadership emphasized the twisting of the party chief Mallikarjun Khagre’s comments against Modi during the Gujarat polls, and they will take it as an example.

Congress plans to focus on highlighting the failures of BJP-led central and state governments, including corruption charges, price rises, and unemployment. Also, the party tends to promote its four pre-poll promises, which include free electricity, financial support for women’s heads of families and unemployed graduates, and rice for below-poverty-line (BPL) families.

These informal instructions were given at a meeting attended by 124 candidates that have been announced to take charge in the elections for the Congress party.

BJP's opportunity to turn the tide in its favor, particularly with the "PayCM" campaign and rising prices of certain products and commodities, and has maintained its stand from the past year by avoiding controversial religious issues and distancing itself from the characters like Uri Gowda and Nanje Gowda who were believed to have killed Mysore king Tipu Sultan. The congress party did not oppose the government’s decision to Cancel the 4% OBC reservations for Muslims, which is strongly expected.
