On November 22, Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo announced the immediate termination of his contract with the organization.

The Premier League team issued a statement confirming that an agreement had been reached between the two parties and wishing Ronaldo luck in his future endeavors.

The Portugal captain, who is currently in Qatar getting ready for his country's World Cup debut, posted a statement on Twitter saying that his love for Manchester United and the supporters had not changed.

Ronaldo, one of the club's top goal scorers, had a second stint at the club that was cut short by a number of controversies in the 2022–23 season, including a dispute with the manager and a final disagreement with the club.

Ronaldo disclosed in a statement that he had a conversation with Manchester United and that they have mutually agreed to end their contract.

Ronaldo further claimed that he adores Manchester United and the supporters, and that won't ever change.

But now seems like the perfect time for him to look for a fresh challenge. He wished the team the best of luck moving forward and for the rest of the season”.

The footballing world was rocked by Ronaldo's interview with Piers Morga, which prompted Manchester United to launch an investigation.

Ronaldo had made digs at the club owners, players, and former stars, which rankled some people in the football community.

The team released a statement where they mentioned that Christiano Ronaldo is going to leave Manchester United immediately, by mutual consent.

The team extends its gratitude for his enormous contribution during his two stints at Old Trafford, where he scored 145 goals in 346 games, and its best wishes to him and his family for the future.

Everyone at Manchester United is still committed to advancing the group's success under Erik ten Hag and cooperating to produce victories on the field.

Ronaldo, who had previously played for United between the years of 2003 and 2009, returned in 2021 after leaving Juventus.
