India launched the Chandrayaan-3 successfully at 2:35 p.m., today (14th July 2023) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. As the Chandrayaan-3 continues its journey towards the moon, it carries the hopes and aspirations of the whole nation along with years of expertise and efforts of the Indian scientists as ISRO.
Aim of Chandrayaan-3
Chandrayaan-3 has been launched by ISRO from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre with the goal of making a soft landing on the surface of the moon and carrying out research on its surface. NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have provided ground station support for the mission. If the mission successfully makes a landing on the surface of the moon, India will become the 4th country to land on the moon.
On the event of the launch of Chandrayaan-3, writer Vinod Mankara also released the book, ‘Prism: The Ancestral Abode of Rainbow’ at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

As soon as the nation witnessed the successful launch, the country’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi took to Twitter in praise for the team. He wrote, “Success! #Chandrayaan3 has soared into the sky, carrying our dreams and aspirations to new heights! Congratulations to @isro and the dedicated team behind this remarkable achievement. We eagerly await the discoveries and insights that await us on the lunar surface!.”
