The recovery of the drugs by the BSF is a significant achievement in the fight against drug trafficking. Heroin and opium are highly addictive and dangerous drugs

In a significant development, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a Pakistani drone in the border area of Amritsar on Thursday. The incident happened in the early hours of the day when the drone was detected by the BSF troops near Dhanoe Kalan village of Punjab's Amritsar patrolling the border area. The drone was carrying contraband substances, including heroin and opium.

The BSF troops observed suspicious movements in the area and immediately started tracking the drone. As the drone approached the border, the BSF troops fired at it, causing it to crash.

According to the BSF Punjab Frontier, their troops discovered a black-colored drone (specifically a DJI Matrice 300 RTK quadcopter) that was partially damaged.

Upon inspection,  a sizable package wrapped in yellow adhesive tape contained what appeared to be two packets of heroin and two small opium packets. The consignment also included an iron ring.

The combined weight of the two heroin packets is 2 kilograms, while the weight of the opium is 170 grams.

This is not the first time that drones have been used to smuggle contraband substances across the border. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the use of drones for smuggling, especially along the India-Pakistan border. This incident is a clear indication that drug smugglers are adopting new ways to evade border security measures.

The seizure of such a large amount of drugs will undoubtedly help in curbing the drug trade in the region.

The incident highlights the need for increased vigilance and modernization of border security measures to counter the ever-changing tactics of drug smugglers. The BSF has been doing an excellent job in securing the border, and this incident is a testament to their dedication and hard work.

In conclusion, the BSF's successful interception of the Pakistani drone carrying heroin and opium is a significant achievement in the fight against drug trafficking. The incident highlights the need for increased vigilance and modernization of border security measures to counter the ever-changing tactics of drug smugglers.
