Inter Milan produced a thrilling performance against Benfica, as the game ended with 3 goals for each side. The high-scoring stalemate, however, proved enough for the Italian side as they pipped over the Portuguese powerhouse with an aggregate score of 5-3.


Inter took an early lead in the second leg, thanks to a moment of brilliance by Nicolo Barella. But Benfica was in no mood to let their opponents register another convincing win, as they fought till the end and walked away with a consolatory draw.

The win meant that Inter would face AC Milan in the Champions League Semifinals, scheduled in May. This will be the third encounter between the two teams, with AC Milan winning the previous two ties. 


In the other Quarterfinal between the English giant Manchester City and German Powerhouse Bayern Munich, the visitors managed to sneak a draw and progress easily to the semifinals of the Champions League.


Manchester City registered a thumping 3-0 victory over the Bavarians in the first leg, which eased their job in the return fixture. However, the onus lay on Tuchel and his team to step up and produce something special to pave the way to the Champions League semifinals. 


The disappointment for Tuchel, however, continued as they failed to capitalize on the chances. Bayern had 19 shots throughout the match and managed to maintain more possession, which ultimately went in vain.

The win meant that Pep Guardiola becomes the first manager in history to reach 10 Champions League semifinals, leaving Carlo Ancelotti, the man he will face in the Semifinals, behind in the race.
