His companies were hit hard by a stock market crash after Hindenburg, a US-based short seller, published a report accusing Adani group companies with stock manipulation. Soros noted that PM Modi was "silent" about the topic and would have to "answer questions" from parliament and foreign investors on allegations of stock manipulation and fraud at Mr. Adani’s industrial empire.
