A Bhojpuri actress has claimed that a man she met on Instagram sexually assaulted her.

Mahesh Pandey, the alleged accused, summoned her to a hotel in Gurugram for an interview and offered her a job in a Bhojpuri film. However, he allegedly used the opportunity to commit the crime. After the incident, the actress claims she received additional threats from Mahesh. Udyog Vihar police have received a First Information Report (FIR) alleging rape and other crimes under the Indian Penal Code. The cops are moving quickly to resolve the situation.

The actress allegedly befriended Mahesh Pandey on Instagram, where she has a sizable fanbase. He invited her to an interview at a hotel in Gurugram on June 29 with the promise of film roles in the Bhojpuri industry.

The actress told authorities that Mahesh had previously checked into the hotel under the alias "Subhash" and that the experience was terrifying. He apparently started drinking after asking her some questions and then raped her. After the incident, the actress claims Mahesh threatened her life and spoke abusively to her.

Mahesh Pandey, a resident of the Gurugram neighbourhood of Chakkarpur, was accused of assaulting the actress. The police have filed a formal report (FIR) against him and are conducting a thorough investigation.

This case highlights the need for users to exercise caution while communicating with unknown users on social media. This tragedy also shows how important it is to educate the public about the dangers of sexual harassment and abuse, especially in the entertainment business.
