Delhi Police successfully apprehended Vijay Pahalwan, a notorious criminal wanted in 24 cases, after a five-year pursuit in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Pahalwan, 52, had evaded authorities since escaping during his parole, encompassing cases spanning Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. His criminal portfolio includes murder, attempted murder, sexual harassment, and other severe offenses. Authorities had placed a substantial reward of Rs 2 lakh on information leading to his arrest.

Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) RS Yadav affirmed the meticulous process undertaken by the Crime Branch to track down individuals implicated in heinous crimes and on the run. The investigation involved collating information from police and judicial records and analyzing extensive criminal records across multiple police files, SCRB archives, and relevant trial courts. This exhaustive examination eventually pinpointed Pahalwan's concealed presence in Jabalpur.

After tracing his location, a specialized team was swiftly assembled and dispatched to Jabalpur, culminating in his arrest. Further revelations surfaced after Pahalwan's capture, detailing his life post-parole evasion. Operating under the alias Vikram Singh, he immersed himself in 'pehalwani akhara' in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Subsequently, he established connections, moved to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and ventured into the property business.
