AMU Students Planned Dawat:-

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students are organizing a wedding reception Dawat for Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker, who tied knots with AMU alumni Fahad Ahmad. However, the planned celebration within the university campus has sparked a new debate because some students feel that Swara Bhasker’s Dawat should not take place inside the campus because the marriage is against Sharia law. “If Shaheen Bagh and members of the tukde tukde gang in AMU are invited, anti-Indian slogans might be conveyed”, some students asserted. The event will either take place at the Old Boy's hostel or the guest house in the campus and will be attended by around 50-100 persons. Reporters from the media and responsible members of society will also be invited”, according to Fazal Hasan, the former head of the students' union. “Everyone has a different opinion. Under the Special Marriage Act, Swara and Fahad got married. It's their private matter and they love one another. This campus does not belong to me, nor does it belong to anyone else. The university owns this campus and any Dawat in AMU campus can be held freely”, Fazal further added. The engagement of Swara Bhasker with Fahad sparked discussion on social media and the president of All India Muslim Jamaat said that Swara Bhasker could not marry Fahad without first converting to Islam.
