Amit Shah Demands Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot's Resignation Over Alleged 'Red Diary' Corruption

The Home Minister made reference to the allegations made by the former minister of Rajasthan, Rajendra Singh Gudha.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over alleged corruption mentioned in a "red diary."

He was addressing a "Sehkar Kisan Sammelan" in Gangapur City, Rajasthan where Shah claimed that the diary contained details of corruption and illicit activities of the state government.

He noted that the BJP-led central government has significantly increased the agriculture budget and formed a separate ministry for cooperatives, contrasting it with the Congress's inaction towards farmers' welfare.

In light of the "red diary" scandal, Shah argued that Chief Minister Gehlot should step down and run in the upcoming elections. Even though the cover of the diary was bright red, he claimed that it contained "black deeds" buried inside. The notebook was said to reveal multi-billion dollar corruption.

The Home Minister made reference to the allegations made by the former minister of Rajasthan, Rajendra Singh Gudha.

In addition, Shah praised India's feat in reaching the south pole of the Moon with the help of the Chandrayaan-3 expedition

According to Gudha, during an income tax raid on Congress politician Dharmendra Rathore's home in July 2020, he seized a red journal that had details of Gehlot's "illegal financial transactions." These claims have been refuted by both Gehlot and the Congress party.

Shah lauded the BJP-led federal government for its efforts to aid farmers and launch a number of programmes to their advantage. He drew a parallel between the Congress government's $22 billion allocation for agriculture and the Narendra Modi government's $1.25 billion.

In addition, Shah praised India's feat in reaching the south pole of the Moon with the help of the Chandrayaan-3 expedition. He stated that the country now had a renewed sense of purpose and optimism as a result of this victory.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also spoke, complimenting the cooperative revolution for its positive effects on farmers, the poor, young people, and those in the workforce. The efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, he said, were responsible for the cooperative revolution's success.

Birla argued that developing food processing associations in rural areas was crucial to the success of this movement. He advocated for a government that is open with its citizens and provides interest-free loans.

Amit Shah's call for Ashok Gehlot's resignation over corruption charges relating to a "red diary" has brought a new dimension to the political landscape in Rajasthan and sparked conversations about transparency and accountability inside the state administration.
