The incident unfolded as Gill was riding a two-wheeler alongside a friend in the Bhajanpura district. An altercation over passage space on a narrow street escalated into a violent encounter, with five individuals on two scooters allegedly assaulting them. Regrettably, Gill suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, and his life was tragically cut short upon his arrival at the hospital.

Meanwhile, his friend, Govind Singh, sustained a head injury and is presently under medical care.

‘’Harpreet was the eldest child of his parents and had been in the midst of preparing for his impending move to Bengaluru when this shocking incident unfolded. On that fateful evening, Harpreet had informed his mother of his plan to go for a walk after returning home from work,” PTI quoted Bobby Singh Gill as saying.

This senseless act of violence has not only claimed the life of a promising career but has also left a grieving family and community in its wake.
