In an attempt to revive the historic culture of melodious music among the rural population, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to give rural musicians financial grants so that they can buy musical kits and instruments.
The Plan of The Uttar Pradesh Government
“If the price of a musical kit is above ₹30,000, then the department will offer a grant of ₹15,000 to the panchayat concerned, and the remaining amount will be contributed by the panchayat,” said Mukesh Meshram, who currently holds office as the Principal Secretary for Tourism and Culture.
Execution of The Plan
To start the plan it has been formulated that all the District Magistrates will be shortlisting 50 panchayats in their respective districts which will serve as the organizing committees for cultural events regularly.
For this selection, panchayats which are already engaged with the cause of promoting cultural events will be given an upper hand. On a periodical basis, based on the performance of these panchayats, the Tourism Department and the Culture Committee will reward the panchayats which perform well in the satisfaction of the goal of promoting cultural rural music.
