Over the span of his illustrious 23-year career, Abhishek Bachchan has established himself as a unique talent in the film industry. Not only does he undertake projects that push his boundaries, but he also adeptly shuts down trolls who draw comparisons between him, his iconic father Amitabh Bachchan, and his wife Aishwarya Rai.

In a recent interview, Abhishek candidly revealed the reason behind his hiatus following the release of the 2016 film Housefull 3. He explained that he made the decision to step back from the films he had committed to in order to reassess his path and priorities.

During a conversation with ETimes, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about the motive behind his hiatus. He confessed, "I had become too complacent. Despite receiving fantastic opportunities and substantial remuneration, with each film turning into a blockbuster, I realized I wasn't challenging myself enough."

Moreover, he emphasized, "One should never have the notion that they can simply coast through a film! No, that's not the way to approach it because people invest their hard-earned money in you! You have to experience sleepless nights. It's the price an actor pays for their talent. Once it ceases to hold that significance and becomes effortless, it marks the beginning of a downward spiral, and that's exactly where I found myself. So, I decided to halt. I returned the signing amounts to the films I had committed to at that time, which hadn't commenced yet. I conveyed my need to reassess things, took that break, and returned with a fresh perspective. From that point on, I started choosing projects that kept me awake at night that truly challenged me."

Abhishek worked as an Inspector Jai in Dhoom 3,he also ventured into a series of lighthearted films such as Happy New Year, The Shaukeens, All Is Well, and Housefull 3. However, he subsequently took a hiatus and made a comeback in 2018 with the film Manmarziyan, where he played the supporting role.
